Week in Pictures Days 43 - 53

Day 43 - Wednesday, February 12, 2014
David made one of our favorites for dinner, pork chops!

Day 44- Thursday, February 13, 2014
Here we go again...more snow!  David worked from home today.  I feel like we are on repeat with the weather.

Day 45- Friday, February 14, 2014
Happy Valentine's Day!!!  Elizabeth and I spent the day with friends, then made  heart shaped chocolate cake.  David came home from work and we went out to dinner at City Diner, probably not the most fancy Valentine's Dinner we've ever had, but definitely the best!  David surprised me with hunter boots that I have wanted for a long time!

Day 46 - Saturday, February 16, 2014
We had a relaxing day at home, and took a few walks around our neighborhood.  The snow is still everywhere!  This is the time of year when we are thankful for the ridiculously expensive monthly parking garage in our building.

Day 47- Sunday, February 16, 2014
We were able to catch giggles on camera again!

Day 48 - Monday, February 17, 2014
E and I ran errands while we waited for my parents to arrive for a visit.

Day 49 - Tuesday, February 18, 2014
My parents and I were out and ran into a CVS.  I decided to get Elizabeth's passport photo taken since we were there and she was actually awake (this girl can't stay awake very long once you put her in the stroller).  I can't look at this picture without laughing, it cracks me up every.single.time.

Day 50 - Wednesday, February 19, 2014
This day was non stop for me, and probably the longest I have been away from Elizabeth.  She didn't notice, and I think it was harder for me than it was for her.  My dad and I went to get Elizabeth's birth certificate (driving around here stinks, I try to avoid it at all costs, so I waited to get it until my parents were here so I didn't have to take Elizabeth, because you never know if there's going to be parking, and I had a driver- my dad), then I had a dentist appointment, after that I went into the city for lunch with some friends, and came home for about an our before going back to the city to meet David to see Motown.  The entire time I felt like I was forgetting something (or someone);)  We had high expectations for Motown, and it was much better than we expected.  Smokey Robinson was in the audience too, for his birthday!

 Day 51 - Thursday, February 20, 2014
My babysitters parents headed home, and Elizabeth and I met up with some friends for a walk since it was a balmy 45 degrees!

Day 52 - Friday, February 21, 2014
David took the day off to start his birthday weekend!  We had a nice day at home.

Day 53 - Saturday, February 22, 2014
HAPPY 33rd BIRTHDAY DAVID!!!  We had such a nice day celebrating, and the weather was fabulous - 50 degrees!  We started out at MoMA....I am not a big fan of modern art, in fact I think Elizabeth could create some of the same stuff on display, but I will say the layout of this museum is great, and we had a nice time.

After the museum, we walked down to the West Village for an early dinner at The Marrow.  (http://themarrownyc.com/).  I was a little nervous about taking a baby to this restaurant, but I don't even think people noticed her!  She was on the booth next to me playing with a toy the entire time we were there - I picked her up for these pictures and put her right back down.  It was almost comical how awesome she was at dinner!

This week will be a busy one!  We start swim lessons on Wednesday!!!  Oh, and of course, we are supposed to get more snow on Wednesday and Saturday!

Happy 32nd Birthday!

Last Friday (well all weekend really) we celebrated David's 32nd birthday.  He took the day off work and told them he couldn't work the weekend either...which was so nice since we haven't spent any time together since tax season started.  David wanted to go to the Met, so we did that during the day.  We were there for 3 hours, and barely touched the surface of things to see.  We have been before, and it's funny because we always find ourselves back in the same place looking at the same stuff we have seen before.

After the museum we took a walk through the Upper East side and through Midtown (our old stomping ground).  Then, we headed down to the West Village for dinner at Spasso (http://spassonyc.com/index.php) ...which was great.  We had the housemade stracciatella cheese to start, David had the skirt steak for dinner, and I had the scallops.  We also shared the brussel sprouts, but I have to admit, I have yet to find any in a restaurant that taste as good as how David makes them at home.  David had a Prada to drink - whiskey, limoncello, honey, and lemon - which apparently he liked so much that we had to rush out to buy a bottle of limoncello over the weekend for him to make one at home.

On Saturday we went to see "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" on Broadway.  I bought the tickets as David's birthday present because he has been talking about seeing it since we moved here.  It was horrible.  I don't even know how to describe it.  I could barely keep my eyes open and at intermission, I knew it was bad when David said he couldn't wait for it to end.  It dragged on and on!!!!  We had reservations to go out to eat afterward, but we were both so exhausted that we cancelled them, came home and ordered pizza.

Sunday we had a relaxing day, David made beef bourguignon and we watched some of the Oscars. I can't stand watching too much, I feel like it is a bunch of people out of touch with reality.

This week I have been hanging out with my friend Liann, we met about a month ago.  She just moved from New Zealand for her husband's job (she is originally from the UK), so we have had a lot of fun exploring the city since we aren't working;)!  I am also still doing my tutoring, which I enjoy...the kids are so sweet.
