September and October

It's been a while and we have been busy!!!  In September we went back to Columbus, Ohio for the first time since we moved away four years ago.  Not much has changed, and it was fun to see where we used to live and hang out.  We also saw my mom's side of the family since the reason for going back was my cousin's wedding.

Our old house looks the same!

No trip to Columbus would be complete without eating at Schmidt's!  Everything tasted just as good as it did in the past!

In October we celebrated Halloween!  It has become nearly impossible to get good pictures of Elizabeth because she doesn't stop moving.  On Halloween morning Elizabeth and I went with our friends to a little parade in the neighborhood...it was so cute to see everyone dressed up!  Later on that day, we went back out with our friends and our husbands met us in downtown Jersey City for a Halloween festival.  There were booths set up for the kids to trick or treat at, and it was perfect for their age.  Elizabeth dressed up as a cabbage patch kid, and she LOVED the candy!

November was a VERY busy month for us too, and I promise to blog about it sooner rather than later:)

First Road Trip and Pumpkins!

Over a week ago we took our first road trip as a family of 3!  We only drove 3 hours to my parent's house, so it wasn't too far, but Elizabeth did great.  On the way to PA (we left Friday morning), we stopped once to feed and change E, she slept the entire way other than our stop.  Sunday morning on our way home, she slept the entire ride home, so we didn't stop at all.  It cracks me up that we packed more for a little baby than we did for both of us combined.

While we were at my parent's house, David and I went out on Friday night for sushi while my parent's babysat.  Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch, but it was so hot that we took pictures and got back in the car.  I can't believe it was in the 80s at the beginning of October!  Now I need to find a Halloween costume for her!

Ghost

Today was perfect!!  The weather was so nice that we spent the afternoon doing things outside in the yard.  If you are facing our house from the street, on the right side are massive azalea bushes.  They take up so much space, and are so big that we had difficulty trimming them this summer because we couldn't get to the middle of them.  We knew we wanted to get rid of them, but every time we started working on it this summer it was too hot to get much done.  Today we started hacking away.  David worked for about an hour and a half and got most of the bushes that were against our house taken down.  However, he probably only removed 1/5 of the bushes.  Our plan is to work a little bit on them each weekend.

While David worked on getting rid of the bushes, I decorated for Halloween.  Can you find the ghost in my picture?  (Ignore the dead bushes on the right hand side, that is part of the ones we removed today.)
